New cross-border eHealth contract with Ministry for Health in Malta for Gnomon Informatics SA

Thessaloniki, 21 December 2017 – Malta’s Ministry for Health has signed a new eHealth cross border interoperability service contract with Gnomon Informatics SA. The project is the design and implementation of the Maltese healthcare system electronic interconnection to EU eHealth Infrastructures that are integrated through Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) programme. The objective is to safely exchange health-related documents such as Patient Summary and ePrescription / eDispensation. The obvious objective is the quality and efficiency of healthcare improvement.
More specifically, the Maltese Health Ministry will benefit from the experience and the ehealthPassTM platform of Gnomon SA to interconnect Malta’s national infrastructures with the National Contact Point for Cross-Border Health using international and open interoperability standards. Through this system Malta will be able to deliver high quality cross-border healthcare for its citizens living abroad and visiting citizens from other EU Member States. This project is the natural advancement of previous Malta’s project in the field of medical data interoperability.
Gnomon Informatics SA is a provider of state of the art internet products and services and has become a significant player in ehealth interoperability throughout Europe (http://www.gnomon.com.gr/interoperability). Similar projects have already been or are in the process of being conducted by members of Gnomon Informatics SA on behalf of eHealth agencies and organisations from Cyprus, Luxembourg, Belgium and Switzerland.
