Gnomon Informatics SA, a pioneering company in the field of digital health, following an international tender process, has undertaken— in collaboration with the Cyprus Telecommunications Authority (Cyta)— the project “Design, Implementation, and Maintenance of a National Mobile Health Services Application System for Cypriot Citizens (myHealth@CY).”
More than 1.3 million citizens of Cyprus will be able to have immediate and secure access to their health data through the myHealth@CY application, which is based on Gnomon Informatics’ eHealthPass digital health platform.
The tender was conducted by the National eHealth Authority (NeHA) of Cyprus, ensuring that, in line with EU directives, Cypriot citizens will benefit from a wide range of digital health services. These services will also be provided cross-border through the under-development European interoperable mobile health services application.
The myHealth@CY app will serve as a unified platform where citizens will have easy access to digital services and tools related to their health, with the ultimate goal of promoting prevention and improving health management. The technical solution will be based on Gnomon Informatics’ eHealthPass™ digital health platform, which will be further expanded to meet the project’s requirements.
Gnomon Informatics, in collaboration with Cyta, is undertaking the implementation of a complex project with a contractual duration of 8 years.
Through the application, citizens will be provided with:

Access to their health data

Information on health services (hospitals, accredited doctors, on-duty pharmacies)

Updates from the Ministry of Health and organized groups

The ability to control how their health data is accessed and used by the General Healthcare System (GeSY) and other healthcare providers in Cyprus
The General Healthcare System (GeSY) of Cyprus and healthcare providers will be provided with:

A digital tool for direct communication with citizens or members of organized groups (e.g. blood donors, cardiac patients, etc.)

The ability for healthcare providers in participating European countries (cross-border services) to gain immediate access and view a summary of the health data of application users

More effective management and monitoring of potential new health crises
Implementation of Infrastructure and Applications
To deliver the above services, the myHealth@CY mobile application will be developed using Gnomon Informatics’ eHealthPass™ platform. Additionally, a Panic Button service utilizing geolocation will be implemented, along with a user authentication mechanism for the myHealth@CY application.
Furthermore, a service for sending personalized notifications to individual users and/or groups of users (push notifications) will be created, as well as a user management service for the application.
