Gnomon Informatics S.A., a leader in healthcare interoperability and European digital health initiatives, also actively participated in the HIMSS Europe 2026 Interoperability Showcases alongside leading international organizations and companies such as Dedalus, InterSystems, Sectra, and ENT.

The theme of this year’s Interoperability Showcase was “EHDS in Action”, focusing on the practical implementation of the European Health Data Space (EHDS) and on how citizens can utilize their health data, which follow them through their health journey.

Within this framework, Gnomon Informatics S.A. presented the eHealthPass platform, demonstrating in practice how patients and their healthcare providers can have immediate and secure access to health data wherever they are in the world. The showcase highlighted the ability to aggregate and access European Patient Summaries (EPS) from multiple healthcare providers and systems (vendors/sources), offering citizens and their healthcare providers unified and reliable view of their medical history.

In addition, a real-life emergency scenario was demonstrated, where patients could instantly share their European Patient Summary with the healthcare provider of their choice, while always maintaining full control and maximum security over their personal health data.

Through this project, Gnomon Informatics — a leading European provider of interoperability solutions in the eHealth sector — enters the North Macedonian market while simultaneously opening opportunities across the Western Balkans, further expanding its strong European presence and international outreach.

The project, titled “Upgrade of the Electronic Health System”, has a budget of €1.3 million and a duration of 18 months. It is funded by the European Union under the Health Initiative 2024 programme. The contract was awarded to Gnomon Informatics following a tender launched by the European Commission, with the central objective of upgrading Digital Health services and shaping a national strategy and Action Plan through 2030.

For the implementation of the project, Gnomon Informatics S.A. leads a consortium of three companies. The consortium includes ASEE DOOEL, an IT company and member of the European Asseco Group, as a strategic partner, while the Athens Stock Exchange-listed consulting company European Innovation Solutions (E.In.S.) participates as a subcontractor.

Through this initiative, Gnomon Informatics undertakes the interconnection and interoperability of digital health information currently maintained across separate databases and reporting systems. The ultimate goal is to address structural challenges and establish the necessary political, organisational, and technical foundations for seamless standards-based data exchange.

Key Objectives and Deliverables

The project will deliver four interrelated outcomes that together establish the foundation for a modern digital health ecosystem:

• Digital Health Strategy 2026–2030 and Action Plan
  A comprehensive policy and implementation framework defining national priorities, governance structures, and funding mechanisms, fully aligned with EU and WHO digital health strategies.
• IT Interconnection between the Health Insurance Fund and the Ministry of Health
  Enabling secure and rapid exchange of healthcare data between key national institutions.
• ERP Standards and Prototype for Public Health Organisations
  A unified framework for administrative, financial, and human resource management, improving operational efficiency and transparency in healthcare delivery.
• LOINC-based Laboratory Standardisation
  Adoption of internationally recognised coding systems enabling healthcare data interoperability across institutions and integration with the European Health Data Spaces (EHDS).

At DMEA Berlin 2026, Gnomon presented its state-of-the-art digital health solution, eHealthPass a platform trusted by Greek and European organizations for connecting healthcare services with patients in critical eHealth and eCare sectors.

DMEA – Connecting Digital Health is one of the most important digital health exhibitions in Europe. This year’s event brought together 900 exhibitors and more than 20,500 visitors, while over 450 speakers participated in the parallel sessions, reaffirming its role as a key meeting point for the digital health ecosystem.

A central theme of this year’s exhibition was the European Health Data Space (EHDS), one of the most significant initiatives of the European Union in the healthcare sector. EHDS aims to establish a unified framework for the secure exchange and utilization of health data across Europe, enhancing both the quality of care and innovation.

Within this context, healthcare organizations, providers, and technology partners are expected to adapt to new compliance requirements in order to manage, exchange, and utilize data in alignment with European standards.

Gnomon Informatics S.A. participated in the exhibition with its own booth, represented by Mr. Kostis Kaggelidis, CEO of the company, Mr. Vakchos Leskaselis, Marketing Manager, and Mr. Fotis Gonidis, Digital Health Product Lead.

More than 1.3 million citizens of Cyprus will be able to have immediate and secure access to their health data through the myHealth@CY application, which is based on Gnomon Informatics’ eHealthPass digital health platform.

The tender was conducted by the National eHealth Authority (NeHA) of Cyprus, ensuring that, in line with EU directives, Cypriot citizens will benefit from a wide range of digital health services. These services will also be provided cross-border through the under-development European interoperable mobile health services application.

The myHealth@CY app will serve as a unified platform where citizens will have easy access to digital services and tools related to their health, with the ultimate goal of promoting prevention and improving health management. The technical solution will be based on Gnomon Informatics’ eHealthPass™ digital health platform, which will be further expanded to meet the project’s requirements.

Gnomon Informatics, in collaboration with Cyta, is undertaking the implementation of a complex project with a contractual duration of 8 years.

Through the application, citizens will be provided with:

• Access to their health data

• Information on health services (hospitals, accredited doctors, on-duty pharmacies)

• Updates from the Ministry of Health and organized groups

• The ability to control how their health data is accessed and used by the General Healthcare System (GeSY) and other healthcare providers in Cyprus

The General Healthcare System (GeSY) of Cyprus and healthcare providers will be provided with:

• A digital tool for direct communication with citizens or members of organized groups (e.g. blood donors, cardiac patients, etc.)

• The ability for healthcare providers in participating European countries (cross-border services) to gain immediate access and view a summary of the health data of application users

• More effective management and monitoring of potential new health crises

Implementation of Infrastructure and Applications

To deliver the above services, the myHealth@CY mobile application will be developed using Gnomon Informatics’ eHealthPass™ platform. Additionally, a Panic Button service utilizing geolocation will be implemented, along with a user authentication mechanism for the myHealth@CY application.

Furthermore, a service for sending personalized notifications to individual users and/or groups of users (push notifications) will be created, as well as a user management service for the application.
